Partners
How we choose partners
These are the checks Ross Alinari asks a business to show before Naples Vacation Planner passes it a visitor’s enquiry. They are his criteria. They are not a claim that a network already exists, and they are not a count of businesses that have been approved.
Ross founded the site. He does not live in Naples, and he does not pretend a visit he has not made. The checks below are what he wants on file before an enquiry moves from the site inbox to a business. A visitor who sends a quote form is asking for a price. The form is free. It is not a booking.
A licence that matches the job
A charter captain should hold a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential. Questions about that credential start at the National Maritime Center, dco.uscg.mil/nmc. A contractor, an electrician, or another state-licensed trade should show a Florida license Ross can look up at MyFloridaLicense. An insurance agent should be licensed there too. If the work does not have a single state license, the business still has to say so plainly rather than borrow someone else’s credential.
Insurance
Ross asks for proof of insurance that fits the work: passengers on a boat, a crew inside a house, a load on a truck, or a meal cooked in a rental. A sample certificate from a past season is not enough. The dates should cover the job being quoted.
An active Florida business
The name on the quote should match an active record on Sunbiz when the company is incorporated or registered in Florida. A dissolved company, or a trade name that does not match the insured entity, is a reason not to pass the enquiry on. An interstate mover or auto carrier should also be ready to show the USDOT number of the company that actually hauls the goods or the car. The federal starting point is Protect Your Move.
Home watch
Home watch is not one Florida license the way contracting is. For that work, Ross prefers membership in the National Home Watch Association. Membership does not replace insurance or a real business record. It is an extra he wants to see before a home-watch enquiry is passed on.
What the customer says afterward
After a job, Ross wants the customer’s feedback: whether the business did what it quoted, whether the price matched the paper, and whether the visitor would want the enquiry sent there again. That feedback is how a business stays on the list. It is not a star rating published on this site, and it is not a review Ross invents.
What this page does not say
It does not say that a set number of partners have already been checked. It does not say that sending a form guarantees two or three replies. Consent on a quote form allows the enquiry to be shared with up to two or three local businesses in that category after they have shown these checks. “Up to” is a maximum. If no business has shown the checks yet, the enquiry stays in the site inbox at sunshine@naplesvacationplanner.com until one has.
Businesses that want to be considered use the partner form. Visitors who want a price start at get free quotes.
