Why 3 Days in Naples?

Three days is the sweet spot for experiencing Naples. You'll have time to:

  • Explore the charming Old Naples downtown
  • Relax on pristine Gulf beaches
  • Take a nature excursion to the Everglades or Ten Thousand Islands
  • Enjoy world-class dining on 5th Avenue South

Let's dive into your day-by-day plan.

Day 1: Old Naples & Beach Time

Morning: Start at Naples Pier

Begin at the Naples Pier beach. As of October 2026 the pier itself is closed for a city rebuild (local reporting points to about July 2027, which is a construction target, not a promised opening day). The sand is open from Broad Avenue South and 13th Avenue South. 12th Avenue South west of Gulf Shore Boulevard is a work zone.

  • Look for dolphins in the surf from the beach
  • Fishing from the pier is not available while it is closed
  • City meters are $5 an hour with a $2.50 minimum, and part of the pier lot is closed

Pro tip: There is no parking on the beach from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

After the pier, stroll south along the beach to Lowdermilk Park or head north toward The Ritz-Carlton.

Late Morning: 3rd Street South

Walk inland to 3rd Street South for a refined Naples experience:

  • Browse upscale boutiques and art galleries
  • Grab coffee at Tony's Off Third
  • Explore the Thursday morning farmers market (8am–1pm, Nov–Apr)

Afternoon: Beach Time

Head to one of Naples' spectacular beaches:

  • Vanderbilt Beach – Great for swimming, good parking
  • Clam Pass Beach – Accessible via scenic boardwalk, more natural feel
  • Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park – Pristine, less crowded, $6 entry

Book ahead during peak season (January–April).

Day 2: Nature & Gardens

Morning: Naples Botanical Garden

Start your day at the stunning Naples Botanical Garden (9am opening).

Highlights:

  • 170 acres of cultivated gardens
  • Brazilian Garden with waterfalls
  • Caribbean Garden with vibrant colors
  • Excellent children's play areas

Allow 2–3 hours. Tickets: ~$25 adults.

Afternoon: Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Drive 30 minutes north to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, home to:

  • Ancient bald cypress forest
  • 2.25-mile boardwalk through pristine wetlands
  • Wildlife spotting: herons, alligators, rare birds

Best visited in dry season (December–April) when wildlife congregates near water.

Evening: Sunset Cruise

End the day with a sunset cruise departing from Naples City Dock or Tin City.
