Moving to Naples
Neighborhoods for a retired or seasonal move
These notes describe how the areas feel for a longer stay. They are not appraisals, and they do not rank a safest or best neighborhood.
The longer visitor guides linked below were written for trips. Use them for streets and beach access, then ask a realtor before you treat a hotel neighborhood as a place to buy.
Old Naples
Walkable streets around Fifth Avenue South and Third Street. The Naples Pier deck is closed for a rebuild, so a waterfront walk is not the same as an open pier.
Park Shore
Between the Gulf and Venetian Village. A central address if you want both a beach day and a short drive downtown.
Pelican Bay
A gated community with its own beach access. Visitor guides describe it as quieter than the downtown blocks.
Vanderbilt Beach
Gulf beach at the north end of town, with larger resorts nearby. Useful if the beach is the reason for the season.
North Naples
Inland and beach-adjacent shopping, including Mercato. A wider area, so ask which side of the neighborhood a home is actually on.
Grey Oaks
A private golf community. Membership rules belong to the club. This site does not quote initiation fees.
Port Royal
A waterfront neighborhood south of downtown. Sale prices are not listed here.
