Typical published prices in Naples (checked October 2026)
- A verified public price list for a Naples household move was not found. Prices vary with distance, weight, stairs, shuttle trucks, and the week. December arrivals and early January arrivals are busy snowbird weeks. Ask two movers for a written estimate on the same inventory. Do not publish or trust a cost-per-pound figure this site did not take from a mover’s own page.
- For an interstate move, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Protect Your Move page is the place to check registration and to read how estimates are supposed to work. fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move
A car on a carrier is the car-shipping page. An airport ride when you land is the airport-transfer page. Do not fold those into a household estimate unless the mover agrees in writing.
Binding, non-binding, and what is on the truck
An interstate estimate is either binding or it is not. A binding estimate is a number for a described shipment. A non-binding estimate can move. FMCSA explains the difference on Protect Your Move. Read it, then ask the mover which kind you are signing. A local Florida move follows state rules and still needs a written scope. Ask.
Inventory is the estimate. A “three-bedroom” guess is how bills grow. Walk the house on a video call if the mover cannot see it, and point out a piano, a safe, a wine room, and anything that does not go. Boxes you pack and boxes they pack are different prices. Ask.
Access in Naples is the other surprise. A high-rise on Gulf Shore Boulevard may need a freight elevator and a reservation. A gated community may need a certificate of insurance before the truck is allowed in. A shuttle van is used when a semi cannot reach the door. Each of those is a line item. Ask before move day.
Dates, storms, and storage
Snowbird moves stack in the fall and the spring. If you need the truck before a holiday rental starts, say the date the house must be empty and the date it must be ready. A window of several days is normal for a long-distance van. A guaranteed day costs more if the mover offers one. Get it in writing.
Hurricane season is June 1 through November 30. A truck on the road in a storm is the mover’s operations problem and your delivery-date problem. Ask what happens to the delivery window. Storage in Naples, if the house is not ready, should name the warehouse, the monthly rate, and the insurance on stored goods.
Tipping a crew is optional and local custom varies. It is not a substitute for the payment on the bill of lading. Ask how the balance is paid and whether cash is required at the door. For an interstate move, know your rights on delivery and payment before the truck arrives. FMCSA’s page is the primer.
How to check the company
Interstate movers need an active USDOT number. Look it up from the Protect Your Move tools, not from a logo on a truck photo. Intrastate movers should be a Florida business you can find on Sunbiz. Ask for insurance that covers the load, and ask what valuation you are buying. Released value and full-value protection are different products. The cheap one pays less if a mirror breaks.
A broker who books a truck is not the same as a mover who owns the truck. Ask which one you are hiring and whose name is on the bill. A quote should list origin, destination, dates, inventory basis, valuation, and the not-to-exceed figure if there is one.
The form is a free quote request. It does not hire the mover. The car, if it moves separately, uses the car-shipping form.
- Origin city, destination address, and the dates?
- Binding or non-binding, and what valuation is included?
- Stairs, elevator, and a shuttle van?
- USDOT number for an interstate move, and Sunbiz for the company?
- Is the car included or quoted separately?
Before you send the form
Give both movers the same inventory, the same elevator, and the same dates. A lower number that is non-binding, excludes a shuttle, and uses released-value coverage is not a better price. FMCSA’s Protect Your Move page is the interstate primer. Ask for the USDOT number and look it up. A Florida-only move should still match a Sunbiz record and a written valuation.
Separate the car. A household estimate that “includes the vehicle” needs the vehicle described, or it will be dropped at the curb as a misunderstanding. Storage, if the house is not ready, needs a monthly rate and a warehouse name. Snowbird weeks book up. A guaranteed delivery day is a different product from a window. Get the one you need in writing.
One last pass before you compare
The service you are pricing is household moving to Naples, Florida. Read the written quote next to the published figures on this page and next to a second company’s offer for the same dates and the same scope. A captain should be ready to show a Merchant Mariner Credential; the National Maritime Center is the place to start that question. A contractor, a wind inspector, or another state-licensed trade should give you a license number you can search on MyFloridaLicense. The company name on the invoice should match an active record on Sunbiz. For home watch, National Home Watch Association membership is preferred and insurance still has to be in force. An interstate mover or an auto carrier should give you the USDOT number of the company that actually hauls the goods or the car. An insurance agent should be licensed in Florida. Ask for a certificate of insurance that covers the dates of the job. Then read the cancellation sentence and the gratuity sentence out loud. If either is missing, wait. Sending the form is a free request for that quote. A reply usually comes within one business day. Nothing is reserved because you asked, and you do not pay this site to send the note.
